Chock full of very useful information. The writing is clear and often humorous. My only quibble is that the indexing is screwed up so finding something by topic is difficult. I will be keeping this one handy for years. ;o)

I will be keeping an eye out for more of the 'What Nurses Know... ' books. ( )

This book will inform you, whether you know a little or a lot about what is happening to you. Roush covers every issue, from definitions to vitamins to mental health. Although I read the book cover to cover, I feel that you could use it as a reference to answer those questions you have now, and save the rest for later. I would recommend it to anyone that is anticipating the menopause years.

One quibble: I looked for something in the index that I had read earlier in the day and the page numbers were incorrect. ( )

What Nurses Know... Menopause by Karen Roush is a very readable and very informative book that touches on many aspects of menopause. I learned new things in every chapter and was reminded of things that I had been taught many years ago. It also gave me vital and current information with which to make decisions about hormone therapy in any of its forms. The chapters on bone health and sexuality were interesting, as well as the one on weight management. I got a little confused with some of the acronyms and some I had to go back in the text to look up. This is a small complaint, though, and may be due to the foggy brain of a menopausal woman! I recommend this book highly. Lots of good, current information and great tips for coping with all the changes. I plan to read this through a second time with highlighter in hand and keep it close for handy reference.

Being of that age when changes are occurring in my female body I found that this book had some useful information. There is much debate going on as to whether or not HRT is beneficial to women going through menopause. This book gives you the information so you can make your own decisions. Also goes into bone health and sexual health at that stage in a woman's life. I found many useful tips in this book ( )

What Nurses Know... Menopause by Karen Rousch is an outstanding exploration of the information related to women and menopauses. Throughout the past decade, I've read many books on this subject and this is one of the best. Filled with the latest research on topics such as hormone therapy, bone health, and sexuality, Rousch presents multiple perspectives and provides helpful advice based on solid medical practices.

Whether you're in your 30s-40s and thinking about menopause or in your 50s-60s and experiencing the aftermath, this book is for all ages but particularly those wanting to be prepared. Menopause is a part of the lives of all women, so it's essential that we be prepared. This book provides important information about both mental and physical health during this important part of our lives. I made it through menopause and you can too! This book provides a great foundation for your exploration of this topic.
