I picked this book up at my college library about 11 years ago. Before I left college, I'd read it at least twice, if not three times. I think I might have been the only person to have checked it out during that time.

The Scottish venacular can get frustrating at the beginning, but once you get used to it the story is beautiful. I am looking forward to reading it again. The novel is diverse and complex in its characters. It has its moments of being melodramatic and sentimental, but it is worth it! ( )
