Flint Lockwood is a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyone's life. Sam Sparks is a weathergirl covering the town's weather phenomenon, but chooses to hide her intelligence behind a perky exterior. Tim Lockwood is Flint's technophobic father. A machine that turns water into food gets stuck in the sky.

It starts off pretty bad, so much so that at first I thought it was meant to be a satire of bad movies. The second half picks up quite a bit, though, when things get more aggressively silly and kind of dark.
