An unusual set of short stories, a mixture of well known and lesser known authors. Many of the authors are from the crime genre, but not all. All of the stories have music or musicians in the plots or subplots and then, at the end of the book, each author talks about his/her story, about the music in it, and about their own musical tastes. The authors included John Harvey, Ian Rankin, Rossane Cash (who wrote about a fictitious meeting between her father, Johnny Cash, and John Lennon.

The format made a good selection of stories even more interesting. ( )
