I haven't finished this as yet, but I wanted to share it before Lent is over. I have been using Lent for Everyone for my Lenten meditation. I'm setting my alarm earlier and getting up to have quiet worship. This book is truly wonderful. Each day begins with a Bible reading which is included in the book. No need to have a pile of books for your meditation. The reading is followed by a great homily to lend meaning to the passage. The day's reading ends with a prayer for the day. I find this really helps me to center and brightens my outlook on the day. I am very grateful that this book fell into my hands for this season. I will treasure it and use it over and over again. ( )

A really good book!

Tom Wright takes us through Mark's gospel through the life of Jesus up to his death and resurrection, with a reading a day through lent and easter week.

Both thought-provoking and helpful ( )

Lent for Everyone by N.T. Wright is a daily devotional that takes the reader through the gospel of Mark as one moves through the season of Lent. The opening reading charges you to get ready, wake up, get a new mind. Wright provides his own translation of the scripture which he then places in the context of the original setting. He is very good at helping the reader to see how the text can then be understood and applied to their present day context. ( )
