Sam Kercher is every inch a wickedly hot Marine. Tall. Sexy. Lethal. When his best friends call in a favor, Sam is forced to face an entirely new line of duty--playing nanny for their newly divorced sister and her squirming seven-month-old twin boys. If Sam can disassemble an M16 in his sleep, diaper duty should be a cakewalk...right? Unfortunately, Operation Nanny isn't quite that simple. Sheridan has sworn off overbearing military men, so Sam must protect her from her dirtbag ex without revealing just how much he has in common with her brothers. Or that he's been ordered not to touch her. Ever. Problem is, Sheri's one hell of a gorgeous woman, and Sam wants her bad. Protect the girl. Care for the babies. Hide his identity. And keep his hands off. But even the most disciplined Marine has weaknesses...and Sheridan is one Sam might not be able to resist. Each book in the Front and Center series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order. Fun book. Sheri is a newly divorced mother of twin boys. Her ex, tagged Lieutenant Limpdick by her overprotective older brothers, has been harassing her, wanting them to get back together. Since he left her for a stripper while she was recovering from having the twins, she's not interested. As a matter of fact, she's sworn of men for a while, especially military men. In her opinion they are overbearing, controlling, and all too ready to lie to her. All she wants to do is start her new job and take care of her boys. She needs a nanny, and her oldest brother, Mac, offers to find her one.

Sam is a Marine, on leave after a mission gone wrong, and feeling guilty about what happened. When his best friend Mac calls on him for a favor, he's willing to help. Especially since it's Sheri, who he has been crushing on since he was a geeky college kid. Mac just has two requirements: Sheri can't know that Sam is a Marine, and he has to keep his hands of her. He's pretty confident he can handle the kids, but resisting her advances is a whole other problem.

This was so much fun to read. Sam actually does quite well as a nanny. It was laugh out loud time to witness his first diaper changing scene, as his mind kept wandering from diapering to cleaning his rifle, but he pulled it off quite well. There's another hilarious scene as he has to deal with a dirty diaper, no diaper bag, and no one around to help. He is certainly creative. I loved seeing how well he bonded with the two babies.

I loved seeing the relationship develop between Sam and Sheri. The chemistry between them is off the charts, but Mac's threats are always there in the back of Sam's mind. Sheri keeps reminding herself that he works for her. But the pull is too strong, and Sheri makes her move. It was great fun to see her kill his self-control. I loved that they were honest about the attraction and the feelings between them, with no silly push and pull games. There's a fun scene when Sheri realizes that her brother has threatened Sam over not touching her. But it wasn't just a physical relationship. They connect over a lot of things, but especially the care of the two boys. There are some terrific "family type" moments that show how much they really belong together. I really loved seeing the way that Sam helps build up Sheri's confidence as a mother. She's always going on about how much better "normal" moms are at everything. I loved seeing how they fell for each other, but Sam fears what will happen when she finds out the truth. I have to say that I thought Sheri was a bit oblivious about it all. There were certainly enough "oops" moments that should have given it away. She is understandably hurt and angry when it does come out. I liked the ending, as a heart-to-heart with her best friend opens her eyes to what is really important.

I enjoyed the part of the story dealing with Sam protecting Sheri from her ex. Jonathan was definitely a creep and I loved the nickname Mac gave him. He did not take Sheri's divorcing him well, and seemed oblivious to the fact that he was completely in the wrong. It was especially great to see him compare so badly with Sam. Though I loved that Sam was there to protect her and the boys, it was great to see Sheri handle the final confrontation the way she did. She was much stronger than she suspected when her mama bear instincts were riled.

I liked Sheri's friend Kelli, who was a terrific support for her. She was there to help with the kids, give moral support, and even the occasional "don't be an idiot" talk. I loved her comments about Mac. As for him, he has the overprotective brother thing down pat. He loves his sister, and he'll do what he has to whether she likes it or not. I suspect that he's got some woman trouble ahead for himself, and I can't wait to read it.

Sheri definitely had her hands full. About to start a new job almost literally juggling two toddlers with no nanny and the ink still drying on the divorce decree from her cheating, lying ex. While she needs to be self-sufficient, she also desperately needs some help – and that’s where her brother Mac comes in. Read More ( )

Very cute beginning! Funny how life comes full circle - yet finds a different ending than you'd ever expect....lol at least in a romance novel we know it will always end on a good note!! ( )

This book was pretty good, but a little slow on the start. Once you get into though it starts going pretty quick. I liked the characters and think they were a good combination. They were snarky, but so drawn to each other and that made for some funny moments. I'm also not so sure about the ending. It is NOT a cliffhanger, but I didn't much care for the way she set up the next book. I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. ( )
