Ha ha I was at the library with Emmett and we had We Sang You Home by Richard Van Camp on the table, which is this sweet story about generational love and belonging from the Tłı̨chǫ (that's "Dogrib" to you, white man) writer Richard Van Camp, and my friend the queer pin@y activist and community organizer came over and she was like "That's such a nice book!" and then she saw we were reading "Chase's Space Race" and made a most unpleasant face. This is a really good book for beginning readers. It uses simple words and is easy to understand. The illustrations are really nicely done, and there are two pages of stickers at the back of the book. I actually just got the book for the stickers, but I enjoyed the simple little story as well. ( )
