The fourth and final part of the Murderbot Diaries series that began with All Systems Red. Murderbot wasn’t programmed to care. So, its decision to help the only human who ever showed it respect must be a system glitch, right? Having traveled the width of the galaxy to unearth details of its own murderous transgressions, as well as those of the GrayCris Corporation, Murderbot is heading home to help Dr. Mensah—its former owner (protector? friend?)—submit evidence that could prevent GrayCris from destroying more colonists in its never-ending quest for profit. But who’s going to believe a SecUnit gone rogue? And what will become of it when it’s caught?… (more)

Murderbot goes on a rescue mission after Dr Menah. Lots of action but plenty of Murserbot's struggles to comprehend and work with humans.

Murderbot realizes that its investigations of the past two books have not gone unnoticed, and Dr Mensah has been blamed for controlling it to do her bidding. Gross. She’s being held captive as collateral so that various evil corporations can keep Murderbot’s findings from going public. What choice does Murderbot have but to rescue her?

A very enjoyable conclusion to this first arc. Most of the loose ends are tied up but there's plenty of room for more. I'm looking forward to reading more and finding out how Murderbot’s feelings toward nice humans are going to evolve. ( )

Exit Strategy, the fourth volume in the grand adventures of Murderbot. In this continuing story we find anti hero hashing out a plan to rescue his former owner, Dr. Mensah. As in the previous stories we are gradually seeing Murderbot change and grow within himself as he is seemingly becoming if not more human, then more understanding. With lots of action and a very well placed plot line, Wells weaves a joy-ride of a story. ( )

The fourth installment in the Murderbot series finds our wise-cracking, introverted SecUnit back with her original crew from Preservation Aux. Dr. Mensah has been kidnapped by Gray Cris and her friends are determined to get her back.

I loved both the reunion with the crew and the action in this one, but in the first couple of chapters found a lot of references to characters in the previous novels. Just throw away lines, but it was distracting to try and remember who was who. It bogged things down unnecessarily, in my opinion. Still loving the series though. ( )

The last third is really what sealed the deal for me liking this book; it's so satisfying seeing Murderbot's story come to a point of answers and temporary peace after all it's been through. I adore the subtle-not-so-subtle pining and affection for Dr. Mensah, and their growing friendship is a joy to watch happen. I thought parts of the story were a little dry and been-there-done-that, but even so it was fun to read! ( )
