This is the best of the trail cook book genre. The recipes offer healthy, wholesome meals, and for the most straddle that territory between tasty yet easy-to-prepare-on-th-trail. I hope in their next edition they include nutritional profiles; some of these dried ingredients also have a lot of salt. ( )

An excellent introduction to cooking on the trail, with good advice about planning and packing. In the edition I have, the authors' dislike of packaged and unnatural foods extends to chocolate, IMO a trail necessity.
