Just like All Creatures, full of the stories of his life as country vet in Yorkshire with the tiniest bit of a plot structure as Herriot leaves for the RAF as the book ends. I have such a soft spot in my heart for the original series and I can just see it all play out as I read the stories. One of my all time favorites. I love the depiction of a slower pace of life, the scenes of caring for animals, and the vivid description of the people he encountered. He also waxes poetic about the countryside and I love those parts too. Picking one of this series up is like having a gentle breeze wash over you and blow some of the craziness of life away. no reviews | add a review
