My family visited the Wisconsin Dells a number of times during my childhood--and perhaps even before I was born. I am not sure if this book was my mother's or one that was purchased on one of our visits.

It appears to be an earlier version of the book offered in 1979 (which I read recently) "The Dells of the Wisconsin River--Yesterday and Today". Some of the photos are similar and some are different. Some information is the same, but in other areas, additional information is given or a new area is stressed. For example, this book discusses how two of the ports of call had to be developed to allow visitors to access them and has a larger section on the Lower Dells than it's 1970s counterpart did. ( )
