"When werewolves from Nocturne City's oldest packs start showing up shot through the head execution-style, police officer Luna Wilder must find out what's killing them and why before she becomes the next victim. Luna traces the killings to a band of shapeshifters made of smoke and shadow who drink the blood of their victims for strength. Believed to exist only in legend, their race is all too real--and now their leader, Lucas Kennuka, is out to wrest Luna's heart from her beloved Dmitri. To make matters worse, Dmitri is suffering from a mysterious illness brought on by a demon bite, and his condition grows more grave with each passing day. Now Luna must rely on Lucas to defeat an invisible enemy--a serial were-killer bringing death and destruction to all who stand in its path."--p. [4] of cover.… (more)

Same quality as the others, though there were a fair number more narrative risks taken. I wholly appreciated the way about half my expectations were subverted. ( )

Luna Wilder is back, so is Dimitri and then he leaves and then he is back. What a nightmare part of me just wishes for him to sod off, but then again he is good for Luna in so many ways. They are both as stubborn as can be and think they're opinions are justified, but they never really discuss anything, just fight or have wild hot were sex. I liked the way this plot went. The ending made me chuckle, you will see why, don't skip to the end though as it might just not make sense. :) ( )

A pretty average addition to an over-saturated genre. Although this is the third book in the Nocturne City series, it was the one I read first and I can say that I didn't lose a whole lot by not knowing the back story. I had a few lingering questions but nothing that would ruin the plot. What gave this novel four stars instead of three is that Kittredge writes some really great action sequences. The morgue scene featuring reanimated corpses sent chills down my spine! I'll remember it for that alone! But overall, it wasn't enough to make me read the previous novels in the series. ( )

They just keep getting better and better. Luna really gets herself into many situations. The action and adventure in this series is great. Luna is such a strong willed Charachter that she makes this series a total winner in my eyes. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. ( )
