A beautiful and large book, which means that most of the maps come out large enough to read and study. The glossy paper helps too. A nice selection of maps from the 1510s to the 1850s. There are some iffy selections, for instance, Nolin's cheap French copy of Coronelli's 1688 map of North America. But there are good ones, like Moll's "beaver map." ( )
