Interesting historical detail is marred by melodrama and chapter after chapter of histrionics. Through a Glass Darkly is a passionate, sophisticated melodrama that will sweep you away to 18th century England and France and introduce you to a cast of characters that you will truly care about....and some you will find despicable. A wonderful mixture of innocent love, burning passions, power, greed, decadence, and scandalous revelations. Very enjoyable! This was a great book, the characterizations were superb and I was swept up in the story. A must read! http://ktleyed.blogspot.com/2009/05/t... At the time I read this book, (probably twenty years ago) it was one of my favorite historical novels. I kept it rolling around in the trunk of my car for years looking for the right home for my copy. I finally found it one. There is now a series of these books and if you like the "Outlander" series try these. If you like historical novels or historical romance novels this is the book for you. no reviews | add a review
