I loved it. John Alexander writes clearly, and convincingly. His understanding of the church focuses on the foundations. Application is challenging and insightful. I wish so many more read this book and wrestled with his arguments. I’m convinced. Live in churches make the most sense if we place function over form.

My biggest complaint would have to be style. Much of the book felt like a rant, hence 4 instead of 5 stars. I would love to see this book written concisely, half the pages or show more less. I loved the YouTube video they did on chapter 6 - Vocation. Splendid.

This will be a book I return to. Recommended!
