Its weird to understand Andreson more as an adult... because all I remember growing up and (with the help of crap views from my own family life) is that she was a big boobed easy woman... so it was definitely eye opening (though I am ashamed to admit it) that she was way more complex than that narrow point of view that I grew up with. I was not expecting the quotes of history and art...I appreciate her openness about her views on sexual freedom even if I dont understand. I recognize the show more person there that isnt who they were as a child, at the personal growth and understand, and the healthier choices she made to not be the people who she grew up around... I see more room for growth, but what human couldn't say the same for themselves? Not a single one of us. show less
I have never seen an episode of Baywatch, or any other production featuring Anderson but finding out that she is vegan sparked my interest in her book. I am familiar with the area where she lives on Vancouver Island, which has a glorious Garden of Eden vibe, no doubt the inspiration for her tantalizing recipes. The book is filled with Anderson’s version of many of my favourite foods but the best part is that each page is simply a delight to look at, to read. Highly recommended, especially show more for vegans and vegetarians, but any foodie will enjoy this. Five stars! show less
Pamela's Book: Expecting More
This book serves as a complementary piece to the Netflix movie, presenting Pamela's story in her own words. Surprisingly concise, it is evident that it is not ghostwritten, as it embraces a non-linear narrative. While it doesn't delve extensively into her relationships, apart from Tommy Lee, Pamela's emphasis on not wanting to be defined by the men in her life is a crucial aspect of her story. Interestingly, she discusses Julian Assange more than her husbands.
It show more may not be considered the most captivating read in the world, given its simplicity and occasionally uneven pacing with interspersed poetry. However, the book does exude a sense of authenticity and honesty.
Nevertheless, don't expect to find detailed accounts of Kid Rock, Scott Baio, or steamy encounters at the Playboy Mansion. Pamela is not their biographer, and that's actually quite cool. It's understandable that people may feel bored since they anticipate sensational stories about others, but Pamela isn't obligated to provide that. We should respect her choices regarding what she chooses to share.
So, while I didn't adore this book because I desired more, I came to realize that unfortunately, everyone simply expects more from her. show less

I liked the tone of the book. It was light and felt like skimming waves. Honest without the massive overshare cringe factor.
