There is no question that we live in an age of weak theology and casual Christianity. We have substituted intuition for truth, feeling for belief and immediate gratification for enduring hope. Evangelicalism desperately needs to return to the doctrines that once before reformed the world: radical depravity, unconditional election, particular redemption, efficacious grace and persevering grace.

James Boice and Philip Ryken not only provide a compelling exposition on these doctrines of grace, show more but also look briefly at their historical impact. The authors leave no doubt that the church suffers when these foundational truths are neglected and that she must return to a Christianity that is practical-minded, kind-hearted, and most importantly, biblically based. show less
The Christmas story is more than sentimental, It is powerful, deals with real people, involves pain, It is one of the most strikingly unusual stories in all of history. The Christmas story has deep meaning, not merely a nice bed time story for your children, but as a foundation point for your salvation.
ok... so the first couple of chapters i was greatly encouraged by the details involved in the teaching... great expository teaching!!! and yet still to come were practical implications that took me a little by surprise!! this clear, blunt, and indepth teaching is lacking in "modern" teachers, thinkers, and writers... another reason to stick to good older teachers!
With shallow thinking, mindless materialism, and self-gratification as the accepted norms of our culture, how does a believer remain faithful and fruitful? Paul’s answer in Romans 12:1–2 is to renew your mind. But what does that mean?
Written by the late James Montgomery Boice, this practical guide to personal application of Romans 12:1–2 to daily life will radically change not only how you see the world, it will change how you live in it. The principles Boice shares in these pages are show more perfect for meaningful group discussion or lifechanging personal reading. show less
