This book is likable enough, but at its core, it is a scholarly piece meant to show recent (circa 2006) updates in literacy research. If you are looking for something the layman can easily pick up, then this book is not for you. It is the raw material of literacy research, the bones laid bare so to speak. In that sense, it was not really enjoyable per se, but it did show the research well. The book is organized into four major sections: Perspectives on Literacy Research and its Applications, show more Processes of Reading and Literacy, Models of Reading and Writing Processes, and Literacy's New Horizons. show less
A good general resource. Lack the neuroscientific models.
