Small bookelt that give an excellent overview of the history of Father Michael J. McGiveney. He was a 29-year-old assistant pastor at St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., when he founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882. Father McGivney's holiness, devotion to priestly ministry and work to protect family life provide a powerful spiritual influence for Knights, their family members and a growing number of other Catholics.
Chronicle's the history, construction and renovation a centaury later and is full of beautiful color photos. Included is a brief overview of the founding of the Knights of Columbus, which took place in the basement of this Church. It was this organization that was instrumental in the Churches renovation. Also, Father Michael J. McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus, body was re-entombed at St. Mary’s Church with the approval of the Holy See and the consent of the priest’s show more living relatives.
