I didn't expect this issue as I thought I was only getting four. The maps are prevalent and colorful, but they often try to do too much, several different paths at different hours, does make it harder to read quickly. Some of the articles I thougtt would be at low, or at most, moderate interest to me, but I was proven wrong, when I actually found the Berlin air lift fascinating, once I could see and understand all the details. I had a similar reaction with the 'Siege of Jeruslem' episode. show more The best article for me was Baker's clear, succinct coverage of 'The Battle of Wilson's Creek'. I almost feel I could justify a subscription to this magazine, even though it has a lot of coverage outside my normal areas of interest. show less

This issue has what I was looking for when I decided to take advantage of the sample special of this magazine after so many years. It has articles on the Battle of Andrew Jackson, which even makes reference to Crockett in the Creek War. An informative description of the 1565 siege of Malta, a (I Iearn something new everyi day) article on WWI's The Somme, 1916, and a eureka moment with a revelation of all the aid given by China and Russia during both the Koean and Vietnam Wars. We didn't show more stand a chance of winning. show less
