Kate gets a new baby brother and she doesn't like it one bit. When her mother, father, and grandmother only pay attention to the baby and Kate feels left out and forgotten about.. In the end she discovers being a big sister can be fun and that her family still loves her.

this little girl does not know what to think about getting a new sibling. she has a hard time with the fact that she is not the baby anymore i thi nk this book is great for anyone who is having a new brother or sister

In this story, a little girl is used to being referred to as "the baby". But now that her little brother, Daniel, is born, he is the baby and everyone just calls her the big sister. But she doesn't know how to be a big sister. She liked being the baby because it was safe to her. She has to learn how to act more grown up and wait patiently and help mom out now that Daniel is here. At first, she doesn't like it, but she soon realizes that she likes feeling big and grown up, and starts warming show more up to Daniel and to the idea of being a big sister. She starts willingly helping out with more and more big girl tasks that she could only do as a big sister, but not as a baby. She affirms that she is in fact a big sister, and that being a big sister feels safe to her. An appropriate book for ages 3-6.

Story that helps children who are experiencing difficult when a new baby arrives in the home. Story deals with the feelings and emotions that an older sibling might experience such as jealously, having to share a parent or parents, and the new demands and attention the new baby brings within the home. Kate the sister presents her feeling and emotions of having a new brother but in the end learn how she fits in as a big sister aswell as how her brother fits into her family.
