This is a powerful glimpse into the hearts of the early Anabaptists in the Low Countries. The family of Maeyken Wens was not unique in what they suffered, but they are unique in that there is a detailed record of their thoughts and experiences. This story of the well-known mother who gave her life for her faith is told from the perspective of her children and what they experienced. I found it quite moving.
