Really like how the author compares life to the wind. A nicely developmentally appropriate way to explain death and grief to children. Even the pictures of dead animals are cute and not upsetting.

Friendship Is Like a Seesaw offers wonderful examples of friendship, and how the relationship can have its ups and downs. Students will enjoy the expressive animals, and will be able to make personal connections. The text gives many different explanations for the feelings you have in a friendship, and offers ideas on how to make things right when things go wrong. The text is explicate as to what a balanced friendship is like. I would use this book to explain feelings. I would also use this show more text when the class is exhibiting relationship issues. This is a long book, so I might break it into sections.

A little convoluted. Beats around the bush. Nice pictures, but of forest animals. Nothing we're invested in. May be good for littles?

Je ne fais pas de critique des livres pour enfants habituellement mais j'avais vraiment envie de dire quelque chose sur celui-ci. Cassandre l'a choisi complètement au hasard à la Médiathèque, je l'ai découvert en lui lisant sans savoir de quoi cela allait parler. Bref, je le conseille vivement à tous parents pour évoquer le deuil avec les petits. C'est vraiment joli et bien expliqué et sans a priori. Cela ouvre la discussion de façon douce. Merci à l'auteur!
