I'd not read this book in 15 years, but it was one that really challenged and changed my Feminist thinking and ways. It was a springboard for a whole new me---I'm so thankful. Among so many other things, Mrs. Pride urges parents to take responsibility for the raising of their children and repeatedly admonishes and holds accountable those who don't . She can be harsh---but none of it is untrue, and it's definitely what today's woman needs to hear.
One of my favorite quotes regarding our Titus show more 2 responsibility to other women is this: "Women today harm themselves terribly by expecting their husband, or male counselor, or male pastor to do for them what other women are meant to do. No man can meet all of a woman's needs. No man ought to have to try! How much less of a strain modern marriage would be if every wife had an understanding and experienced older woman to answer her hard questions and give her support." Yes!! Where are our Titus 2 mentors? I've resolved to be one---to be what I don't currently have. show less

Christian living. Although much of the advice was sound and encouraging, I did find some of her descriptions of those that listen to rock and other such things overly judgmental and unkind. This spoiled the whole Christian tone for me and killed the message.
Excellent work calling Christians to abandon the non Christian and un-Biblical ideas that have pervaded their thinking in areas from music to education.
Is it so that a career is always more fulfilling than motherhood? Can a woman realize her full potential only by leaving home and getting a job? Sadly enough, this and other thinly disguised feminist notions are now the prevailing views accepted by the church. But a new movement is stirring. More and more women are finding their way back to the reality of a biblical understanding of Christian womanhood. Mary Pride's book is a source of inspiration and encouragement for every married show more Christian woman who wants to discover the Biblical freedom intended for her life. This is not just a book. It is the beginning of something new and exciting for today's woman. show less
