My two starts if for this audiobook edition narrated by Virtual Voice. I feel I would give a hardcopy edition three stars.

Each episode in this timeline history -- a litany of lies, chaos, criminality, and rudeness -- is helpfully annotated with a source URL. Hearing an AI narrator translate these URLs into sentences means no one typing them exactly as spoken will not navigate successfully. Ampersands are "and", "en." is read out as "N", domains such as apnews.com are "App News", etc. It is show more not jus the URLs. For some reason, abbreviations are munged like "Sec." for secretary becomes something like "sissy" ("sessy"?) and an "M" for millions becomes meters or even millimeters. This all suggests no human review and editing happened and probably because that would have been the same time and effort as hiring a competent narrator.

Still, this is a great sourcebook for history on the first Trump presidential term. They could have avoided much of the content difficulties -- and worked in a layer to resolve link rot -- by using some URL-shortening solution for custom, brief, and consistent URLs while allowing the mapping of such URLs to be maintained as needed. show less
