Detailed entries for many small villages in Hampshire as well as the bigger towns. Text interspersed woitgh many engravings, especially of places in the Isle of wight. There is an interesting reference to Portsdown Hill: 'Portsdown Hill...is said to rise 447 feet perpendicular height...On the 26th of July a large fair is annually held in Portsdown, which continues three days' (page 399). Farheam had 690 houses and 3677 inhabitants and two alee-conners among those who governed it.
