A girl (monster) seems jealous of the specialness of her friend, until she finds out that her friend is just as admiring of her. Great for pointing out how everyone has different strengths. Reminds me of the Olivia books in tone.
Grade 3-8. This is a great book for me when I'm a teacher especially dealing with middle schoolers who like gross-like stories such as burping and other "funny" noises at that age. This book is a cute story about a boy who is a burping champion until a new principle comes into play who cancels all fun things, the boys set out on an adventure to have their freedom back.
Alien pen pals are always fun, but I didn't think this one was amazing, either. I'm sure kids would love it for all the slimy alien stuff though, and the kid who sends his older sister to space.
Very good book to teach kids that being themselves is perfectly fine. Don't be jealous because you aren't the things that someone else is. Be proud of the things you ARE because they are unique to YOU.
