*Principles of Accounting Vol. 1: Financial Accounting* by Mitchell Franklin is an excellent resource for students and professionals looking to grasp the fundamentals of financial accounting. The book is structured clearly and logically, making complex accounting concepts accessible to readers at all levels. Franklin's approach is thorough, covering key topics such as financial statements, accounting cycles, and the principles of recording financial transactions.

Interestingly, this show more textbook's detailed and systematic nature could be an unexpected inspiration for writing a fantasy novel. Just as accounting involves intricate systems and rules, a fantasy world could be built on its complex systems—magical, political, or economic. The way the book breaks down significant concepts into manageable parts could help a writer think through the mechanics of their fantasy world similarly. This book equips readers with essential accounting knowledge and offers a unique perspective for those interested in world-building and storytelling. Whether for academic purposes or creative inspiration, *Principles of Accounting Vol. 1* is valuable to any reader's library. show less
Officially, I read 60% of the book, where an additional 10% is the index. So, in reality, I don't feel I am truly cheating by reading 2/3 of the book. As an OER resource, this book is better written than other similar textbooks. I enjoyed the evolution and plant taxonomy chapters a lot, whereas earlier chapters seem to be gramatically unclear at times with occasional errors.

Given this is an OER open access resource (and thus had lower expectations), I felt it was well organized, has nice show more photos and for the most part was easy to read. show less
