Alex Rodriguez

Celebrity author, books are one thing but when they use their life to tell a fake story, it doesn’t always work. This book very much reads like Alex Rodriguez is sharing the glory days of his youth. It’s overly long and tad bit tripe and feels like a giant fish story. I do think the illustrations are great and I love how in the end they included real pictures and Ted bits about Alex Rodriguez’s life. I think that is more interesting than the book is a hole.

This very simple story provides a good backdrop for Alex's life story. The addition of a personal message and pictures by Alex makes this book feel special and personal. I love the humble tone of the story too. This book is perfect for our read-a-thon activities because we are using a sports theme. Every morning we have a guest speaker and this would be a good book to read. A lot of students want to read stories that involve sports when they come to the library. This would be a great book to show more recommend to the younger readers. show less

This book is great to use when showing kids how to write. It has a great badabing sentences included in here for teachers to use as an example when teaching writing. I think kids would really enjoy this book because it shows great expression and makes it visible.
