Not a bad Christmas story but not as good as expected.

I would’ve liked it more if there’d been more dialogue exchanges and less rambling third-person narrative. Quite a few times we’re “told” what characters say via reported speech when dialogue would’ve “shown” us what was going on.

I like Rosemary. It’s easy to sympathise with her. You’d have to be hard-hearted not to.
I started with the Audiobook but got a little discouraged with the reader and moved to Gutenberg. Somewhat like What Happened in Egypt it spent alot of time on long descriptive passages and somewhat skimped on things like plot development or completely making sense. The descriptions were lovely but overall it traded in The Sheik type stereotypes of Arabs. I suppose not untypical of the time period but pretty awful sounding for now.
