Ellen Conroy Kennedy

Negritude was a literary movement among French-speaking Africans and members of the African diaspora. This anthology provides English translations of the works for the major members of this movement along with biographical commentary that explains who influenced who and how the movement grew. There was more information here than I was interested in, but I was glad to get a taste of these poets.
