I read this because it was on my parent's bookshelf when I was 16. This is a marvelous book, but it can make you feel pretty bad and feel that need to repent for almost anything you've ever done in your life! So, be careful not to feel too bad when you're reading this because that isn't the point that President Kimball was trying to make, although he encourages very strongly that everyone should repent. A very insightful read for Mormons. I'm not sure how much bearing this would have on show more others from an outside perspective. show less
A small booklet, much like an extended fireside address, using a modern parable to detail the dangers of letting doubts and grudges and bad habits settle in our hearts like an iron wedge left carelessly in the cleft of a tree, which became overgrown and forgotten, and caused the trunk to split in a storm.
Great book on the repentance process but be sure to finish it. If you just read the first half you will be stuck in guilt!
A standard guide through the process of repentance. Pres. Kimball talks straight about the expectations God has for His children, but also offers great hope that as we sincerely go about the process of changing our behavior and hearts, we can find forgiveness and joy.
