If you have ever had a hard time convincing anyone that bridge is an intellectually challenging game, show the skeptic this book. In it, bridge expert Jeff Rubens presents and analyses 100 of the most difficult to play hands I have seen. Most of them require multiple decisions by the declarer, with each decision based on the outcome of previous decisions. There are plenty of squeeze plays and a few trump coups, but most hands depend on a clear assessment of the probabilities of the show more distribution of the defenders. Very few of the hands allow a sure fire way to make the contract. This is definitely not a book for beginners. show less
Excellent reading - book gives advice how to play in different types of scoring : rubber, Chicago, duplicate pairs, teams etc. There is a great chapter about hand evaluation. For advanced players.
