Although twenty years out of date, this still remains one of the better guides to France. This book has an excellent history o the different towns in France, and notable sections on different churches, museums and points of interest, including art, architecture. history, museums and galleries and 60 town plans. Unlike many guides which concentrate on selected restaurants and hotels, this one concentrates on what to see, the different towns, points of interest, and routes through the show more countryside.
Especially recommended for tourists who will rent a car to drive in France, as well as for older or independent tourists and students of French history. show less
