I have lived and travelled in many RVs for many years. I was only the helper to a person who had full knowledge about RVs. I learned quickly what to do when "battening down the hatches" before the RV moved -- securing doors, securing chairs, etc. so you didn't have as many surprises when you stopped. We also had a routine for when we stopped at a camp as to how the RV was set up and who did what and got so good at it that it took 10 minutes to be done and ready to relax.

So when I came show more across this title at the library, it caught my attention. I did not read the book word for word, rather I flipped through each section, scanning the information, and slowing down to read sections that I wanted to know more about. Lots of useful information for beginners as well as seasoned travelers.

Includes information about driving with an RV, selecting an RV, picking the right place to camp, setting up camp, creating more useable space in the RV, traveling with kids and pets, working while traveling (the computer/media section was very interesting), etc. I especially liked the Hack #183 CREATE A DIY OUTDOOR HANDWASHING STATION and Hack #253 USE A WAFFLE IRON TO MAKE ALL KINDS OF FUN MEALS

Not bad. It is a general guide to living full-time to most of the time in an RV. I've been daydreaming about taking a year to travel and thought this might help. There is some practical about many aspects of nomadic life, but only a surface treatment.

I think this book could be really helpful for people who know very little about RVing, but might be too general for readers more familiar with the subject.

The authors included a lot of inserts with stories and biographical sketches from show more full-time RVers. This was a good idea, but I did not find them very inspiring. show less
