One day up in the attic a boy with a flashlight comes across his dad's old radio flyer. The huge close-up pictures tells the story more vividly than the minimal text. An excellent book to stimulate imagination, inventiveness and curiosity. Recommended as a stimulous for creative writing.
I may not have liked this when I was younger, or if I hadn't already fallen in love with Pullen's quirky art style.  But right now I'm at the point in my life where I can really appreciate this ode to the power of imagination.  And I really enjoyed carefully watching the dad on each page.
This book is extremely simple. It is about a young boy who finds his father's radio flyer in the attic and wishes to make it fly. He believes it flew, but in reality it was his father pushing him and holding on to the radio flyer. Even though this book is simple, I feel that it would attract young boy readers. And the illustrations were magnificent. I think this would be an easy, quick read for your students so it would still be a great resource to have in the classroom.
A boy finds his father’s old radio flyer and has a great adventure with it. The pictures in this book were absolutely off the wall awesome
