An absorbing study of ‘the Renaissance perception, production and reception of sleep and dreams and their relation to divine inspiration.’ I particularly enjoyed her discussions of Michelangelo’s drawing Il Sogno (the Dream), and of the engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi known as ‘The Dream of Raphael.’
