An incredible reference book on the uniforms of the French Army and it's satellites. The illustrator, Jacques Domange, studied under Rousselot and produced his own set of 230 plates which covers units and their uniforms that Rousselot and other uniformologists of this period either don't cover or gloss over. The Elting/Knotel classic set "Napoleonic Uniforms" has one uniform and a short paragraph on the Polish Legion of Italy during the 1796 Italian Campaign. This book has three pages of show more text and three plates with a total of fifteen different uniforms. Perhaps TMI on the PLI for most people, but for those who revel in obscure units and their uniforms, this book is amazing. show less
