I really like this book, especially for a beginner. It has good general instructions and a bunch of patterns. Most everyone could find something to do out of this book.

I love this book, and have quickly found myself unable to live without it. It breaks the patterns down into very easy to understand lists of rotary-cut pieces. It's easy to multiply the number of shapes in the base pattern to reach the total numbers needed for the entire quilt.

The first book in this series is a favorite source of patterns, and so is this one, but....
Instead of listing the measurements of common blocks, like a 2-5/8" square it will say T1 or some such and you have to look in the back to figure out what size this is. I hate templates! It was a much better format in the first book.

This small book is designed soley to help you use up your scraps. Blocks are featured in black/white layouts with amounts needed for a square and number of blocks needed for various sized quilts. Originally designed as a companion to the Scrapsaver template (now called Scrapmaster), you can use all of these patterns with squares cut using any rotary ruler. The Scrapmaster template does make cutting odd shaped scraps much faster.
