W. H. R. Rivers (1864-1922) attended the University of London and graduated in the field of medicine. He is most famous for his work in the area of treating soldiers who experienced shell shock during World War I. He is the author of numerous books including Kinship and Social Organization, The show more Todas, and The Influence of Alcohol and Other Drugs on Fatigue. Charles S. Myers (1873-1946) was an English psychologist who came up with the term shell shock. He was also co-founder of the British Psychological Society and the National Institute of Industrial Psychology.
