Another great volume in this series! I love both protagonists, though I am a bit worried this is going to keep going down the "polyamorous character needs to not be polyamorous anymore to find happiness" route. It's kind of walking the fine line of it. I do really like the plot with Cavo doing things for himself. He's generally self-reliant outside of staying in Liam's shadow, but it's neat to see how he handled the boat problem.

If you're looking for m/m kind of Beauty and the Beast if the show more beauty was a middle-aged bisexual lech and the beast was a giant nervous softie, plus some dubcon (and size difference and xeno, obviously) this is good for you! show less
Part of this wasn't as good as the other volumes, but the good parts were very good, so this is more of a 4.5 than a 5 star review, but overall I'm really enjoying this series.

I find the two following knights interesting as a couple but the story involving them isn't all that interesting, and it'd probably be more entertaining if it was Liam and Cavo exploring it instead. That being said, it's fun to see Liam and Cavo be more physically intimate, and Liam reassuring Cavo's anxiety was really show more lovely. Cavo just needs affection! Also Cavo laughing and getting tickled is so cute!

I think the story is going the "polyamorous character needs to be monogamous" route, which is unfortunate, but I haven't read volume 4 yet, so we'll see

3.5 I'll admit: I'm a big sucker for dynamics that are along the lines of unnatural being/human, AND I love a good ship where one is a mean-looking soft-hearted character and the other is a soft-looking chaotic-hearted character...so I was primed to enjoy this! The back and forth between Cavo and Liam is really fun, and while I'm worried to see what will happen, I'm enjoying the tension so far. The plot is a little lacking at times (vague when specifics would be nice), but hopefully will show more pick up in the next volume. show less
A really neat and lovely ending to a good series! The protagonists are just so fun! I do have a sort of issue with the thread of "polyamorous character finds happiness by being monogamous" and the way they both kind of manipulate each other with their affection is a bit mmm (like ah, yes, having a polyamorous character who's "mean" to his partner by threatening to be with someone else... not a great look). Overall the writing was good though, I love the art style (and Cavo is so beautiful. show more And him being happy is so sweet to watch. Liam's backstory is really great, and I like how it was resolved, even if the knights following them just sort of disappear. But they just felt kind of added in, so that's not terrible.
