Boone’s Girl by Tracy Broemmer
Intriguing look at the idea of “what if: but also, the idea that all good things come to those who wait…maybe? In some ways this is a second chance romance…and yet it isn’t one in which the couple were a COUPLE in the past. Very interesting take on high school friends, a decade later…and how some grew and thrived and one did not.
This is a Novella, so short, but it really packs a punch. I felt for the characters, cared about the outcome of the story show more and do hope this time their HFN will become a HEA. They definitely deserve it and seem to be good for one another. I like the way Bodhi dealt with her situation, the strength it took to move when she did, how she made a new group of friends, and was willing to open herself up to the potential of love with Will.
Will was a bit grumpy at first and not very friendly with Bodhi BUT he did grow and change, managed to open his thoughts and mind, and eventually cared enough to do and say what he needed to in order to make things right with Bodhi. Bodhi was quiet, a bit hesitant to engage with others, and especially with Will BUT she eventually opened up to a small group of friends, started to come out of her shell, and did connect with Bodhi in ways they never had before.
I loved the way the two communicated in the end and the fact that they were open to one another and to what the future might hold in store for them.
Thank you to IndiePenPR for the ARC – This is my honest review.

My fault for not reading the preview, but with the number of 5-star reviews I figured I would love it. I did not. I tried reading this twice & gave up both times. I am not the target audience for this book, which would probably be better appreciated by young adults. They may be able to relate to the characters better. The story is told in the first person, alternating between the 2 male and female love interests. It is very detailed, e.g., including the squeals and hugs on meeting her show more friends, how many margaritas were consumed, that she hoisted up her dress to sit on the toilet and her social media hashtagging.

Toasted by Tracy Broemmer
Excellent introduction to a new author…just enough to whet my appetite and make me wish to read another of this author’s books soon!
What I liked:
* The runaway groom idea/genre
* Grant: a nice guy with the wrong woman who woke up just in time
* Zoey: a nice woman there to help Grant through a tough evening
* The fun the two had on New Year’s Eve
* Having just enough information about Bridezilla Noelle who sounded like a “piece of work” most hours of the day
* show more Wondering what crashing a New Year’s Eve party might be like
* That though a short novella length story, it packed a punch, made me feel, and care
* Being left with the desire to know more about the characters…if the author was so inclined to share in the future
What I didn’t like:
* Noelle: selfish, unkind, not someone I would want as a friend, wishing her the karma she deserves
* Not knowing for SURE what the future holds in store for Zoey and Grant
Did I enjoy this story? Yes!
Would I read more by this author? Definitely!

Christmasing With You by PG Forte: Allow an afternoon for this delightful adult contemporary Christmas getaway gone awry but do NOT read it in public as guffaws will insure. I had an ARC and this is my voluntary review.
