Excellent book full of personal reminiscences. It is not an "official" history like Stremlow's but more of a social history in that it places individual women, their decsions to join the Marines and their experiences in the social context of their times. Filled with first person quotes from oral history interview. Coupled with Stremlow's official history, it will give a reader a good idea of what life was like for women in the Marine Corps during World War II.
