This book is about Maria Mitchell. Maria saw a comet in night sky that no one had saw before in 1847. Maria was the first woman elected into the American Academy of Science and arts. She traveled the to Europe and meet other famous astronomers. In 1865 Maria became the first female professor at Vassar College where she taught astronomy. This book is a good example of a biography because the book is about a real person and the book gives bibliographical references. The media used in this book show more is photography.
