Oh, for god's sake. What a letdown. "Mr. Jason Grant" has a thing for pristine sneakers, real wood floors, and overpriced juvenalia, though he pays lip service to the concept of "decorate with what you already have." He writes as though he's never had an original thought - just peppers the photos with brainless, hackneyed phrases.

But the image to top all is one of Mr. Jason Grant painting a broad, bare wall with -- love it -- a 3" brush, out of a quart can of paint, while standing on a piece show more of canvas placed just so, nowhere near where the wall meets the floor. Has he never painted a room?

Maybe all of this posturing and cutesiness is meant to be ironic, but whatever. The book is totally unhelpful, if you live in a real house (not next to a beach) and are looking for real inspiration (not a series of uber-posed magazine shots).
