Heathcliff is another one of those funny comic strip cats that I loved reading growing up. Not as popular as Garfield, and often considered an imitation (although Heathcliff is very much everything Garfield is not, AND Heathcliff was around five years prior to the lasagna lover), but for several reasons I always tended to prefer Heathcliff as a character, probably because he tended to do more and interact with a wider variety of characters. I think one of the reasons he never garnered a show more larger fan-base was the single-panel gag style of the comics. Most preferred the Garfield multi-panel format which allowed for better storytelling.
Anyway, on my nostalgia kick and decided to give this one another read-through. show less

I collected Heathcliff back in middle school. They are fun collections of comics. Heathcliff is just a fun trouble-maker.
Heathcliff was a gluttonous cat, a feline version of "Marmaduke", who predated (and was better than) Garfield. I never cared much for the strip, but the book was a gift and it IS signed by Gately. So what the heck.
