A large format, glossy pages, coffee-table type of book. Mostly full page full colour photo's of individual carpets from various countries with descriptions of them. There are some sections that give care and shopping hints for carpets, but not enough information about how one style differs from another.
For an 'A to Z' guide, I found it somewhat short of informative material. For example, amongst other things, I would have wanted more information about the differences between an Afghan Kazak show more and an Afghan Ziegler and why one costs 4X that of the other.
There could also have been more explanations on the different type of carpet construction (weaving) and why sopme patterns dominate over others.
It's a pretty book, and good to flip through, but I need something more erudite. show less
