A book for all families to own. I would have read it to tatters when I was a young girl, and been so much better off now for having learned those trees. Not a field guide exactly, but an almost necessary companion to them, as it shows the reader How to look at What in order to be able to make the identification. And the pictures are warm, clear, and just wonderful.
A really good shortened version of the Disney movie. Focusing on how being clever and brave are strengths, and how women (not just men) can be strong and honorable.
I first read this book when I was a little girl and I still have it today. I love its message on never backing down because of your gender. Mulan is so brave and powerful throughout the story. It also serves as a learning tool for Chinese history and women's history in China and the things they went through. I think anyone could enjoy this book and it serves as a great example to young children on believing in what you stand for and never giving up.
Absolutely fascinating story of sibling rivalry, friendship, parental relationships, set on the backdrop of the Afrikan continental plains. My copy has beautiful illustrations, and the kids just love the vivid colors artistry and storyline.
