This is another installment in the "Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard" put out by Guideposts. Here we find our main character, Priscilla, as she sees an airplane in need of help. When she reports it, no one believes her. Can she find the missing plane and solve the mystery of why only she saw it?

The last 1/4 of the book was better than the first 3/4. Priscilla is presented in this book as very whiny, with a penchant for seeing slights that aren't there. She takes against her main squeeze Gerald show more in a why that's basically a child throwing a tantrum. And what is worse, her cousins encourage her in this behavior. Everything could have been solved had she talked to him, however, the author preferred to let the character stew and it really put me off the book.

Having read all of the previous books in the series, I can tell you that Priscilla is not like this at all. Which makes me wonder, why would Guideposts go ahead with a book that sees the character do a complete 180?

Read it if you are invested in the series, otherwise skip it.

Another fun installment in the Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard series. Priscilla Latham Grant, who has recently inherited a lighthouse, can't help but get swept up in helping to solve a mystery which involves the appearance of a suspicious and abandoned houseboat, an art theft, and some strange dog barking. Will she be able to solve the mystery before she herself is cast "Adrift"?

This is just one of those books that keeps you interested. The characters, the setting, the plot...all great, show more easy-reading, and perfect for getting swept up in. Don't read while hungry. The descriptions of the pastries and other delicacies will make your mouth water and send you right to the kitchen! show less
Once again, we have another fun installment in the adventures of Priscilla Latham Grant and the happenings on Martha's Vineyard. This time Priscilla's lighthouse is the victim of an arsonist. Priscilla's property isn't the only victim. Many buildings around town are being burned to the ground. Can Priscilla get to the bottom of the mystery before any more town buildings go up in smoke?

This struck a great chord after the debacle of the last book (for me). I felt like I was back with familiar show more characters. Readers wanting an offering centered around the Fourth of July will like this. show less
