It's a very good read with an interesting story about trees of course. I really enjoyed it, it felt like was along with him. I hope to visit some of the trees that were in the book, but sadly there very little location information. One of the trees Angle Oak in SC I have visited and hope to go back and take some better photographs. As a photographer I tend to be critical of other photographers work and Jim's left me want some different images, but still given the complexity of photographing show more Big trees it's understandable and there are some stunning ones in this book. show less
Great pictures of champion North American trees, many of them photo-montages taken while rappelling down the side of a nearby tree. Some of the photos are fold-outs and give a great sense of the scale of the tree, especially when you can see tiny little human figures in the picture. I was especially glad to see the Angel Oak depicted, as well as another live oak at Middleton Place in SC.
